The Sustaining Members Meeting

On Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, a special meeting was organized by the Board of Directors at the roof garden of Mr. Gregory Mourgelas premises, in honor of the eighteen Sustaining Members of the Chamber. Most of them there have been founding members of the Chamber, they have consistently supported it for almost 20 years and they are still doing it. The aim of this meeting was to bring all the Sustaining Members together in a friendly environment and exchange thoughts and ideas for strengthening its entrepreneurial role upgrade its social contribution and discuss possible synergies.

The President of the Chamber, Mr. Marinakis, welcomed each one personally and in his brief address said: “...you are playing a very important role for our Chamber and we would like very much to involve you more and listen to your ideas in order to make our Chamber adapt faster to this new continuously changing environment and fulfil its members expectations”.
Mr. Gregory Mourgelas, who was hosting that special meeting, welcomed and thanked the participants for coming to his premises and, obviously inspired by the view and vicinity of the Acropolis, he referred to the social and human being aspects and principles, with which our business activities and our every day life should be enriched. Most of the Sustaining Members participated in this special evening with their wives and had the chance to get to know each other a bit better both personally and professionally and chat around today’s business and social environment. In that special night were present Mr. Konstantinos Marinakis, Managing Director of Oriflame Hellas Ltd, Mr. Ioannis Saracakis, Executive Vice President of Saracakis Bros S.A, Mr. John Petropoulos, Managing Director of Petros Petropoulos AEBE, Mr. Alexandros Averkiades, Managing Director of Scandinavian Airlines Systems, Mr. Gregory Mourgelas , Senior Partner of Mourgelas and Associates Law Firm, Ms Ourania Patsiopoulou, Managing Director of SKF Hellas S.A, Mr. Andreas Halmbes, and Mr. Nikolaos Martinos ,Sales Manager and Public Relations Manager respectively of Volvo Car Hellas S.A, Mr. Nikolaos Leousssis, President of JNL Plus S.A., Ms. Voula Arvanitaki President of Combitrans Hellas Ltd, Mr. Antonis Rousseas, External Communications of Ericsson Hellas S.A. Also, as official guests, were present Mr. Chistoforos Sardelis Vice President of National Insurance Company, Mr. Evangelos Carokis, Ambassador ret, Ms. Ellie Psaras of Swedish Trade Council, and Mr. Filippos Avratoglou and Petros Vrousalis, honorary members and former Presidents of HSCC. Mr. Nikos Leoussis, President of JNL Plus and Sustaining Member of our Chamber, offered a glass of champagne and extended an invitation to all the participants for the “Seventy Years Creative Itch.” of his Company, on Sept. 29, 2011. All the participants experienced an unforgettable evening, in the vicinity and view of the Acropolis, but most of all they enjoyed the warm and interesting company of that night. This Sustaining Members Meeting has been organized successfully for a second year now and it can be said that it has already become an institution for our Chamber.
