The Privatisation Programme: Largest in the World

Greece, as part of the medium term fiscal strategy agreed with its partners, has committed to transfer trading assets from the public to the private sector.
The government has set up the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund, whose sole mandate is to facilitate this move. This marks a substantial departure from past practices and puts the privatisation programme in a clear business context.

The Development of Hellinikon

Greece is launching its programme to develop the vast tract of land on the Athens Riviera, the site of the former Athens Airport. The development of the site at Hellinikon, the site of the former Athens Airport on the southern coast of the capital, is one of the largest urban regeneration programmes worldwide. The land is 1.8 times the size of Central Park in ΝΥ, 2.5 times the size of Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens in London, or about 40 times the size of the National Garden in Athens.

The Sustaining Members Meeting

On Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, a special meeting was organized by the Board of Directors at the roof garden of Mr. Gregory Mourgelas premises, in honor of the eighteen Sustaining Members of the Chamber. Most of them there have been founding members of the Chamber, they have consistently supported it for almost 20 years and they are still doing it. The aim of this meeting was to bring all the Sustaining Members together in a friendly environment and exchange thoughts and ideas for strengthening its entrepreneurial role upgrade its social contribution and discuss possible synergies.

The Chamber’s General Assemmbly

On Thursday, May 19, 2011 the Hellenic-Swedish Chamber of Commerce organized its Ordinary General Assembly at the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). The vast majority of the member-companies and other guests as well were present there, while Mr Hakan Malmqvist, the Swedish Ambassador in Athens, honored the event.
